3rd Gear Chirp
Watch the speedo and tach as the tires chirp into 3rd at 80mph
The sound sucks because of the picture camera and the window being open...

You cant hear the chirp because of the wind( as you said ) but your speedo went nuts when it shifted. But looking at the video im wondering where you had the camera ?

The camera was in my right hand, about half a foot from my chest. It's just a little Canon picture camera with video capability (until I get my camcorder).hazelnut wrote:You cant hear the chirp because of the wind( as you said ) but your speedo went nuts when it shifted. Very nice to see spedo at 100+. Been twenty years sense I've seen that.Very nice job on motor Bobby. Can't wait to get mine back. Will have to be careful, new law up here.If you get caught going to fast, cops will charge you with racing. Impound vehicle and big fine + careless driving.

Thanks Mark. I'm sure we've got a similar law here. I've been lucky so far

Next time I see you at one of the meets, I'll give you a ride. Hopefully I'll have my wider rims and drag radials by then.quantumleap wrote:the only time ive ever seen my speedo at 100 is when its bouncing from 0 to 100(need a new cable)...when you gonna let me go for a ride in that beast?

It's a Ford Racing Performance Parts tach. Available from Ford. I got it at a discount through my cousin (he works for Ford in Vegas).quantumleap wrote:nice tach too by the way..how'd you get that center with the ford emblem?
I'm looking at the Wheel Vintiques Series 14 steelies. Tubbing depends if I can fit 325-50-15's on 10" rims with a 5" backspace.

Re: 3rd Gear Chirp
I'm looking at some MT ET drag radials for the street. I will have another set of rims and daily driver tires for everyday use.
