Are you talking about the attatchment point for the shoulder belt option?

re: what is it guys
Anyone know where to find a shoulder belt to fit there. I'd like to add these in addition to the lap belts. Just in case (Heaven forbid) I get in an accident. I'm not really feeling the need to smack the steering wheel with my face.

There's a rumor that the 73 (to early 90's ?) Dodge trucks 3 point belts have a narrow retractor that is floor mounted and works well. I have not seen it, but have every intention of trying it out (someday)

That's exactly what I'll be using when I get to that point on my project. Just for the visual, here's a couple pictures I shot a while back of that setup from a truck in the local U-Pull-It:

Looks like it would be a tight fit if the in-cab tank is still in place.
Keith, how do you plan on mounting the retractor? Looks like they mount to the inside of the cab somehow, or am I missing something?

Yeah, they mount to the side of the door opening lip. It's been a while since I took that pic, but I do remember thinking that it would be an easy fit. I believe I was thinking that a simple L-bracket mounted on the floorpan would work great. I don't think I'd want to trust mounting it to the existing door lip on our trucks...at least not without a little reinforcing. Yeah, it'll be a snug fit, but I think it would work fine and look good too.

re: what is it guys
I was looking at the 71 cab the other day, and noticed that the seat belt holes were in a different place than the 72s. My dad always said those holes were for shoulder harness seat belts because of a new law that was being made. I do not see how you would mount shoulder harness seatbelts in the 71. I got a kit for the 72 that is a set up alot like that dodge in the picture, that went in easily.

Using duct tape as a means of securing your shoulder belt doesn't strike me as aparticularly good idea.

I didnt want to scratch the cab. I plan to remove them in a couple of years. My mom made me install those. I tried them on once, and I cant stand them. I actually used the lap belts
