emblem

Post by georgeiiv »

I am getting ready to paint my 69 Ranger, is there an easier way for me to take the emblems off without creating too much scratches? I tried every way but they are on pretty good.

No, those emblems are just pressed into inserts in the fender. They'll have to be pried out. You can use a thin piece of wood for your screwdriver to pry against to keep from scratching the paint. Don't twist the screwdriver....that WILL cause scratches. Just gently pry, alternating sides and angle, and slowly work it out.

Check with your local glass shop. They use a flat white plastic stick for prying the rubber around the glass. I've got a couple and they work great on emblems.

do those emblems have those funny barrel shaped clips on the emblem pins that can be removed to ease the removal of the emblem? like the ones on the FORD hood letters.
