Shift Linkage Grommets
In case anyone is interested, the part # for the shift linkage grommets on the rod that runs from the column to the C6 trans is EOSZ-7341-B, available from Ford.
They do not list a part number for the upper grommet because originally it was only available on the rod when you bought the rod, but it is the same grommet.

Re: Shift Linkage Grommets
Perfect timing. I have not logged on for a while and did tonight to find the part number you listed. Thanks.

Is the rod you are using threaded on the transmission end or no?BobbyFord wrote:In case anyone is interested, the part # for the shift linkage grommets on the rod that runs from the column to the C6 trans is EOSZ-7341-B, available from Ford.

Re: Shift Linkage Grommets
the threaded end goes at the top on the column. well for a 67-72 it does. on the 73-79 it goes on hte trans lever.

Yes, threaded at the column. My truck is very stock.

Re: Shift Linkage Grommets
I guess that means the my gear shifter rod is from a dent because the threaded part is in the bottom by the transmission. Learn something new all the time. Good thing because they say that you only get old once you stop learning.fordman wrote:the threaded end goes at the top on the column. well for a 67-72 it does. on the 73-79 it goes on hte trans lever.

Re: Shift Linkage Grommets
Sorry to resurect an old post but I've been searching for this part number. Thanks, BobbyFord. My C6 currently has some rubber bushings, looks like what is used on the 3spd. M/T. Are new retainer clips available?
What do I use for bushings on the kickdown rod. I have the rod but it's not installed.

Re: Shift Linkage Grommets
Don't think there is bushing for the kickdown. At least on mine is was tight enough I just used a retainer clip (the half moon looking clips) from any parts store. Used them at the tranny and at the carb. Hope that helps.

Re: Shift Linkage Grommets
Thanks, that does help.
If the washer/clip on my shift linkage breaks when I take them off, what do I use for clips to put it back toghether? E-Clips?

Yeah, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
