Heater hose routing
Do I have my heater hoses ran right? Or does it not matter?
The side with the valve runs to the water pump.

Re: Heater hose routing
Good evening Tim,
That's very kind and admirable of you to work around the birds, taking care to not disturb them like that.
With regarding to your hose routing, I'm searching for photos of a truck that are somewhere on FORDification.com of a truck with only a few hundred miles (or maybe less). I'm pretty sure Keith posted them (he may have found them in an eBay ad, if I'm remembering correctly). It's a blue truck. It has a great reference engine compartment!

Re: Heater hose routing
The hose that connects to the T on the manifold should be the one with the heater control cable connected to it.

Re: Heater hose routing
The water pump side is return water inlet. The manifold side is water to the heater. The water pump won't have hot water in it until the thermostat opens. The bypass just lets enough water across to protect the pump.

With the hood on I couldn't get far enough from the engine to get everything in one shot. This is a '71 360. The hose on the lower left goes to a tank heater. One hose passes under the automatic choke.

Re: Heater hose routing
When you have a carb heater you go from the Intake to a t and one leg of the T goes to the carb heater. The other leg goes to the valve for heat control then into the heater. The carb spacer water outlet on some trucks cam back to the water pump and was tee'd to the return from the heater core at the front of the engine. Others were Tee'd to the return hose up by the firewall.

Re: Heater hose routing
I am trying to find out where to run my heater hose's and which hose has the control in it. The photo bucket pic is all blurry I have a 69 f 100 with a 302 engine. I have been rebuilding it and life and money got in the way. Do not remember which side the control went on and there was and H fitting in the hose's as well can not remember if that went to the cab side of the control or the grill side. Any help would be great thank you for your time and wisdom.
