I put a quart of oil in mine yesterday. Thought about installing my trailer brake control and changing the exhaust doughnut. Decided as hot as it was that thinking about it was as far as I was going to get.
Faithful, stay away from my truck! She may be a 69, but she's still a virgin.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
today i stared at the 71 in the driveway, then went around the side of the house and stared at the 69.
That was enough work for today.

Went to put a spool in my rear end, and pulled an axle shaft just to make sure it was right. Mines 28 spline, spool is a 31 spline.
Off to the junkyard to look for a 73-79 f100/150.

Finally have the money to get the gaskets I need to put the motor back together in my wife's truck. She's not happy her truck is broke. Hopefully replacing the head gasket fixes the problem.

Re: What did you do to YOUR bump today?
The '73-'79 axles are going to be a couple inches longer than the earlier versions, so they won't fit in your existing housing. You'd have to get the whole dentside rearend, and then relocate it's spring pads inboard a few inches on each side to fit your bumpside.71fordkid wrote:Went to put a spool in my rear end, and pulled an axle shaft just to make sure it was right. Well nevermind. The only axles that have 31 splines in a 9'' are bronco axles, and theyre 28.5'' long. 2'' too wide for my truck, and i cant run a bronco axle.
