72 explorer emblems- are they different from 73-79

I have a 71 custom. I would like to change the emblems to the explorer just for kicks. I talked to Bart from Dennis Carpenter. He seems to know alot of stuff .He claims that in late 1972 , the explorer emblem was put on the back of the f 100. He also said that the emblem for the late 72 is different than the 73 to 79. He also claimed that the 73 to 76 would fit but it does not fit the contour of the 72 bed style. Does any one have pics of a original explorer emblem from a 72. Thanks Dave
