sure you can put in a automatic or a manual transmission. it just depends on what you are goignto do with hte truck before anyone shoul dmake any certain choices in an exact transmission. from the factory they cam with manuals either a 3 .03 3spd on the column, a 4 spd in two versions a np435 or a t18 and they also came out with a 3 speed with overdrive. as far as automatics it depended on your engine. and the year of the truck. some of them that came out stock were the mx in 67 only the fmx the cruise o matic and the c6. i think you could also maybe get a c4 but i cant say for sure on that. the c6 is by far the best automatic they made. and would be the best to use if you wanted an automatic. what do you have in your truck now?
