Source for rebuilt C-6

Greetings all...

Just last week I picked up a 1970 F-250--390, C-6, two-tone paint covered with rust, and a lot of things to fix...and I couldn't be happier. I had another bumpside over 25 years ago and regretted ever letting that one go.

My "new" truck is going to need transmission work soon (it's puking fluid, 3rd gear--when it comes at all--is driven at very high RPMS, slow shifting, etc.) My plan is to buy a good rebuilt and put it in myself (and while the tranny is out, replace the leaking rear main seal on the 390.) I'm not interested in doing the rebuild myself for a number of reasons--lack of time, lack of workbench space, etc.

So...can anyone recommend a good source for a solid rebuilt C-6? Any glowing experiences you'd care to relate, as well as any horror stories? I've done some web searching but haven't found "the one" yet.

I had been refered to Phoenix ReTrans, but on investigation they seem to have a poor reputation. Summit Racing had a C-6 for a nice price, but I haven't been able to find any info/reviews of their transmissions yet. Again, I appreciate any pointers you can offer.
