HERES MY VIN F25YRA56408
According to the VIN page, I have a new process tranny? ok..my question is will a C-6 fit in the truck and what is a new process transmission? i plan on either building some rad floor shiter or checking out the local auto parts store . so linkage is not something i am worrying about. i would think that all i need is a air connection for the modulator? any thoughts. theres a beefed up C-6 on ebay going for 300 and well if i hear something good in the next hour or two i will buy it..and thanks for the greetings..eddie in calif.

Ya, it will fit as long as the bell has the same bolt pattern as your engine. I am not sure, but you will probably have to shorten or lengthen the drive shaft.
The New Process is just the name of the tranny (NP435).

thanks for the quick reply, but how would a guy tell just by looking if the bolt pattern will work. or is that not going to happen unless you physically remove the trans?

well I would hope the person selling the tranny would know what applications it will fit or what it came off of before you purchase it. That would be the easiest way.

Why? The 435 is almost indestructable and get better fuel mileage. If you drive a lot in the city the 4 speeds are a bit cumbersome, but for an occasional home depot run I can't see going to all the trouble. Just My but then I am a stick shift kind of guy.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.
