Transmission number plate??????
O.K. fellas, help me out here. These are the numbers off of my id plate on the side of the trans. HEF CH 088686. What does this mean. I looked through the tech section and they only list a HFF model. I am almost certain the middle letter is an "E", and not an "F". The trans code on my vin plate is a "C". I am soooo confused.

Re: Transmission number plate??????
I have seen lots of HEF transmissions, but never an HFF one, so I think the HFF is a typo.

The HEF number is the REAL number, just like the RAN and RUG numbers are real numbers.fordman wrote:the 3 spd has the real numbers ont he passenger side of it. similar to ran or rug . those are the numbers to be concerned with.

Re: Transmission number plate??????
Thank you. I did finally find a site that listed the HEF CH trans as the correct trans for a 66 LD F100.
Thanks for your answers.
