I have done that removing pinion nuts except I didn't spin the engine. I rolled the truck by hand. It works. :pray:

it works but can be unsafe the way they did it.

gee guys i was trying to show the new guys how to be safe about doing it. sure it works. and all o fhtat. but what if the guy didn't pull the coil wire and the engine started. it would make that socket and break over fly off of the bolt. i have never done this. i have not had too. it is a effective method. but it canbe an unsafe method. especially for those you cant even put a carb back together the way it came apart.

Oh, I totally agree with ya fordman :thup: .

I did that back in my stupid days now I have an air impact and I can pretent I know what I am doing. 8)
