352 not pumping fuel

352 not pumping fuel
I have a 67 352 with 5000 miles on a rebuild. This engine was pulled from my 67 about 4 years ago to make room for a 460 (the engine was rebuilt about 10 years ago). I just put the 352 into a '66 and for some reason its not pumping fuel. I tried two different fuel pumps and bipassed the fuel line, but nothing. I know that there is a cam centric that operates the fuel pump-but do those go bad? I really do not want to put an electric fuel pump on this. Is there a way to check the cam centric thing without taking the timing cover off?
With old trucks you can do what you want. No one will ever ask you "is that a real F100" or "is that a real short box?"

you can take the fuel pump off and see if it moves with your finger or soemthing that will reach it. i have the same problem with my 390. i think the fuel pump is bad. it wont suck hard enough to let the fuel actually pump . it sucks but then it also blows back through the pump side when the arm relieves. i hate these fuel pumps because of this. i bet that is your problem to. i have several of these pumps and they are all doing the same thing when tested off of the engine. they suck and blow from the intake side of the pump.

when putting the fuel pump in you should be able to see if there's a load on the pump or not.
Even with the ecentric at the lowest point there should still be a slight preload on the pump.
There be about a 1/16"-1/8" gap at the bottom of the pump were the flanges meet. Rotate the crank a bit and that space should get bigger if the eccentric is still in place. Also, the cam pin should keep the eccentric from loosening.
I'd say it's the pump also.

You can just remove the fuel pump and take a look inside the slot to see if the eccentric is still there and intact. Here's a couple pics for the visual:
