I think everything from an 80s pickup should work.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

I've been thinking along the same lines and don't see anything to stop you mechanically. :)
What I don't know or understand is what to do about the computer tho. :/
Will it freak out when it doesn't get feed back from the automatic transmission? :)
What needs to be done about?
Not looking forward to buying a manual transmission computer from a wrecking yard,
as scarce as they are.
Holy cow. :/ I can see it now...
"how much for one of those? :)"
"how much you got?"

Any ideas? :)

When I get to ST.FL,Ill talk to OT.about that,if I have to,Ill buy the manual comp new,I dont want no junk in this truck, what with me being in Panama, its hard enough to get parts here as it is,Theres a Ford dealearship on Transistmica, but we all know what OEM parts cost,I buy from them as a last resort, sometimes, their prices are not to bad.Can any one tell me how much Ill have to cut out the trans tunnel?,I mean, whats a truck with this trans.already in it look like?,how about a dimension?can someone post a few pictures?,Or should I just look for a truck with this trans already in it and just say screw it? I believe I can pull it off,but like any custom build,Its gonna have its share of headachs, does anyone out there know of this swap being done before?? let me know!,,,as usual,Thanks Again Fordification!!

to me it sounds like you already have it together and just need to install the parts. the computer deal is the only thing i know of that might trip you up. maybe you need to get a trans from or for a computer. thats all i can say.
