swapping 6 cyc engine for a v8..will it fit

i have a 6 cyc 240 with a 3 speed ( light duty trans code c )..can i swap a v8 in there without changing the trans...would i need special mounting for a v8...thanks

no they are different transmission bellhousing patterns. the 6 cyl is a small block pattern and the fe is another pattern. as well as the 429 460 and 351m are a differnt pattern. i think ford used five different patterns for thier engines. i have named 3. i forget the other patterns. 1 more could maybe might be the Y block pattern.
