Best c6 rebuild kit
I am needing to rebuild my C6 and while I am doing it I am also taking my 390 to around 360HP. Who makes the best rebuild kit and shift kit for this? I saw earlier posts saying to stay away from TCI.

Thanks for the Transtar/go info. I went to their web site but didn't see any pricing. What are we talking about for the overhaul kit and shift kit?

Do you have a reputable tranny shop near by? I would go to them and get the rebuild kits they use. I went to my guy and got a transtar rebuild kit from him, new torque converter and rebuilt pump for my c6 for 190 bucks. Also i have used b&m shift kits before and they work great.

I don't remember exactly. I used to buy through my dad's shop (for the jobber price) but now I buy through my buddy's repair shop. I kinda remember the deluxe O/H kit; steels, seals, frics, band, modulator valve to be around $100. The shift kit is around $35.

If you want a good complete kit, get a kit from broaderperformance.com. Jay is a great guy and great to deal with. If it is your first rodeo, pick up a C6 rebuild video from badshoeproductions. Then go to town rebuilding that bad boy.

Like was said, transtar/transgo. Good parts that fit right and transgo kits are easy and work well.
Look in the phone book for a transtar wholesaler in your neighborhood. If they're too far away to pick up just have them ship the stuff. Don't ship a converter though if it's going to cost a bunch. I have found I can buy the same locally rebuilt converters through transtar for 40% less than I can buy them from anyone else local, but I'm picking the stuff up. Transtar will sell direct to anyone if you don't sound like you don't have a clue. Just call up and say your with so and so shop(make up a name, don't use a real shop's name), your working on a 19XX C-6 and need a kit with frictions plus whatever you want like bushings/thrust bearings and a transgo kit. You might have them through in an ATSG manual too, but if your new to autos the ATSG manual will be like reading Latin.
