what did you used to clean up the engine prier to painting?

I used superclean its the best thing i have found, i have been using it for years. I had to use a small brush on some of the motor where the grime was real thick.
The rest of the parts were just wire wheeled including the tranny.

I got the motor and tranny in this morning, tranny lined up great and it all went in like butter i couldnt believe how easy it went in.

Thanks for the comments. I didnt do a link setup on the rear i kept the leaf springs and did a axle flip kit with a djm shackle and hanger kit. I wanted to do it a little different so i kept the rear leafs and ibeams. It just doensnt seem right to have an old ford without ibeams. LOL. I am from southwest louisiana.

I got the header,carb and intake on this morning checking for clearance and making sure there are no problems it all looks good.

Well i got the intake and header all torqued down the throttle and choke are hooked up the carb is bolted down. I ordered my gauges for my f600 cluster and i went ahead and upgraded to a 130 amp one wire alt i figured with electric fuel pump and fan plus a stereo the stock alt wasnt gonna cut it.

Getting it done slowly but surely here are a few picks of the carb linkages i know alot of people ask about the carb linkages. In case someone says the carb is on wrong i have the offy c intake not the dual plane intake.

If you didn't strip and paint those Hedmans, the factory finish will burn right off. Again, don't ask me how I know.

Well i started getting my clutch z-bar assembly fixed up and noticed that the clutch rod is worn more than i thought so i looked under the dash to see how worn the other end is and its worse. Then i realized that where the rod hooks to the pedal is really worn out so i pulled the pedal assembly to weld up the gap were the rod wore it down. I have it out and looking at it i see where the metal bushing are all loose and cracked. I gave mustang steve
a call and ordered his ball bearing pedal kit so it should be here in a few days. Today is the day i realized that i will have this truck till i die since i am spending so much money on it, it will probably be my ride to the graveyard. I got my f-600 cluster in and its gonna look good with my gauges.
