Vacuum Advanced Distributor??
I have always been told to put the vacuum hose that goes to the distributor onto a ported vacuum port(vacuum isn't present at idle) on my 390. I'm not sure if that is where it is suppose to be or not. If I leave the hose on a constant vacuum port all the time is their any harm that this will do to my engine?

the hose is suppose to go to the bottom passenger side of the carb on a stock autolite carb.

Well, I'm sure no expert on this, but I would expect if you don't have the vacuum advance on a "ported" vacuum you will run the risk of your engine pinging when under load. The ported vacuum would diminish under load and retard the spark a bit to prevent pinging.
