Ford Fe 410 Stroker Horsepower?

Ford Fe 410 Stroker Horsepower?
I was wondering if anyone has a rough estimate about a horsepower gain if I put a 428 crank in my 390. Right now my 390 has been bored .030 over, it has an Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, a Performer RPM cam, Crane Roller Rockers, the Performer RPM Heads with Cobra Jet sized valves, Edelbrock 750 carb, MSD Ignition and Headman Headers. The compression is about 9.5:1 and the whole engine is freshly rebuilt. Right now it has roughly 350-375 HP. Also I was wondering what else you need to do besides installing the 428 harmonic balancer and flywheel with the crank.

You will gain torque and move your powerband down. You will gain HP, it will be a direct function of the added torque.

A comment though, you don't need the 428 or 410 balancer, all FE balancers are neutral. 428SCJs use a weighted spacer behind the balancer, but 428s and 410s don't need it. The only externally balanced piece is the flywheel, you'll keep your same balancer and spacer
Every consider going real big? 4.25 stroke with rods and pistons would give you 445 cid, which is a very nice combo.

It'll give you an idea anyway.
With one set up I have here's the #'s
390= 462.5 hp @ 5500 rpm
479.2 ft.lbs @ 4000 rpm
change only the short block to a
410= 456.8hp @ 5500 rpm
496.8 ft.lbs @ 2500 rpm
Not a big difference in peak but it brings that torque down where you want it for the street.
It'll give you an idea anyway.

Those numbers do not sound anywhere's near realistic to me.
First off, peak HP doesn't mean jack. It's a seriously overused, mostly useless unit of measure. Torque is real and torque @ such and such RPM is a far clearer picture of what an engine is actually doing.
When you increase stroke and change nothing else you lower and broaden an engines powerband.

dyno #'s from the post linking to the FE forum - 478.8 ft.lbs of trq. @3900 and 438.5 hp. @ 5600
What I posted was from the cam selector software. I'm sure Comp has it set up to make there cams look real good. Not saying there real but showing the difference of the torque range. And not that far off.

You would need pistons too, the pin height differs.
If you are close to the 1 hp per cubic inch level that will probably remain true, the extra displacement will make the cam "act" smaller, thus moveing the power down the band slightly. Which is how you lose horesepower and gain torque. Horespower is a calculation of torque x RPM / 5250.
If your 390 is new any way, it wouldn't be "worth it" to me.
Watch those Dyno programs, most of them say my 390 has around 580 horsepower. While I've never dynoed it actually I'll assure you it doesn't make that.

The 390 you have built up should be a pretty stout motor, although I don't know anything about the performer cam.
Our shop truck had a 390 with ported C6 heads, CJ valves, a pretty lumpy cam, and 3 duces off a T-Bird. It never failed to make me and anyone in the passenger seat smile.
I wouldn't pull it apart to put in the 428 crank. If it was apart, I would go for the 428 crank.

My TriPower doesn't get very good mileage. What's the problem?
