Stock exhaust bolts and sealing question

Post by agouge »

302 2bll..............What size, grade and length bolts for stock exhaust manifolds? Also..do I need anything other than a stock style gasket to seal these manifolds? Any sealer, or other stuff needed?

Thanks,

Hey agouge

The best bet, is to order a set of stock ramp lok exhaust manifold bolts.
Most Mustang parts suppliers have them...
Here's a link to one here in WA, but they are about the same everywhere

I used good quality metal gaskets on my 390 ... I think they seal the best.

one other thing is to make sure the manifold and head surface are flat. you may have to have them milled down to make them flat. or you could use two gaskets per side to help take up any gaps that may happen to be there.
