early and late 460 differences
I tend to forget some of this stuff. I know the blocks changed. And the efi intakes don't swap with the earlier 460s. What about the bell housing? Will the 460 ZF bolt to an early 429/460? What about flywheel? Heads? Could I put C8-D0 heads on a 96 460? thanks
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Re: early and late 460 differences
Block is same more or less, the bell housing pattern is same,heads/intake on EFI are different and wont mix/match with older heads/intakes.willowbilly3 wrote:I tend to forget some of this stuff. To bolt a 460 ZF to an early bottom end you need to either have a custom clutch made for an old flywheel or have a later flywheel internal balanced.

So older heads bolt on the later engine?
What does a "custom" clutch consist of?

It's easier and less expensive to have a later flywheel balanced.willowbilly3 wrote:So older heads bolt on the later engine?
