I can almost smell the exhaust

Post by BMJs 67 »

I started assembling the 390 for my broken down Bump tonight. There's nothing special about it, but it makes me feel good knowing that I'll be driving the truck again before too long,,,,,, The Intrepid I'm driving now really sucks!

Very nice! I like simple. I trust Henry when it comes to how the engines go together. I like "beast" engines too but my heart longs for stock and stock looking rigs. I guess it's my age, I'm over (way over :( ) forty now and I get it now. I miss seeing those old cars and trucks my parents and others drove when I was a kid. All I want to do now is restore a couple of them. I got an old Ferguson TO 20 I want to bring back to it's original glory too. Man am I behind on my projects!

For the most part, it's stock. I got ahold of it with 16,000 miles on a rebuild. It was really clean inside and showed very little wear so I left the rotating assembly together. I put a new oil pump and pump drive shaft and cleaned and painted everything else. The four barrel intake came from a different engine. It will get a new fuel pump, waater pump and all the little stuff to seal it up and make it reliable. It was a toss up between Corporate Blue and the black that I went with. I decided on the black because I thought it looked good with the stainless fastener set. 8) Can't wait to get it into the Bump.
