Oil filter adapter gasket

anybody know where I can get one for an FE without having to buy an entire engine gasket kit?

They're easy to make, just buy a square of gasket material from a parts store, trace and cut. Don't forget the holes.

How about here most parts counter guys are idiots and can't find it but i just picked one up the other day for my engine work.

That is the only part my local guy couldn't get for me so far. I did find it by chance at one of the local chain parts stores.

Engine rebuild shop should have them laying around.

I took the filter off first with a pan under it. With the filter and the oil in it were dealt with, there were only a few more drops. It's higher on the engine, most of the oil will be down in the pan.

I think I stopped a long time leak. The truck is new to me by a month or so, but it looks like it's previous owner fed it oil regularly instead of replacing oil filter adapter gasket. I had to cut some of the gasket away to make room between the adapter and I think was an gas filter (shocked the gas filter is not shielded from road gravel). Yes, removing the oil filter first made this tight spot workable. I used 1/2 socket, a longer extension and some patience.
