Re: CONFUSED ON TRANSMISSION TYPES
No one can ID them unless you provide enough information.

Re: CONFUSED ON TRANSMISSION TYPES
Hello David
The over and down tranny is a NP435, lots of info about here on the site, the over and up is a T-18, again, lots of info about it if you'll search a little. Both excellent transmissions though.

1962 F-100 Custom Cab 292 3 on the tree, restoring, probably gonna sell it I guess. Love the engine.
1972 Maverick 2 DR 250 I-6, C4, restoring.
1978 F-150 always wanted one of these too. 300, 3+1 OD trans, pretty well preserved, working on it
1985 F-350 460 crew cab, rough as a cob
All these are southern Arizona desert trucks, little to no rust, but the sun takes its toll,ha.

Re: CONFUSED ON TRANSMISSION TYPES
Thanks for the info everyone, didnt mean to offend anyone with my caps locked, thats a bad habit of mine when typing ,im not very good at it.Ihave found several discussions about the 2 transmissions, but they get a little confusing.I have found only one that seems to point toward the np435 being faster geared than the t18.
Thanks david

Re: CONFUSED ON TRANSMISSION TYPES
Doggonit, they changed where the reverse is so much, there's no ID-ing it that way.
Get the tags off 'em, don't mix 'em up and type out what the ID tags say. :)

Might as well get the tags off the rear axles too while you're at it. ;)
The two upper tags are rear axle tags. (Ford 9 inch)
The two lower tags are transmission tags. (Warner T18)
