length difference?

2 different trucks, but both short bed.

71 w/ 360-c6-ford9

67 w/ I6-np435-dana 60

situation: i want to rebuild my 429 for the 67 . that is all it needs (but it will be in amarillo). the body and electrical is good. since i want to restore the 71 the eng will have to come uot any way.

question: can i take the 360 out of the 71 and put it in without modifications, like having to switch the driveshaft or cutting it? i know about the fe mounts and have a set i can use already. if i have to do any thing major i will nix it and just wait until the 429 is ready. just want to drive one while i work on the other. thanks in advance.

the bellhousing from the 429 wont work, youll need an FE bellhousing unless you swap over both engine and trans but then you would need a different length driveshaft. not to mention swapping an auto to a manual transmission, it would be quite a bit to do.

the 429/c6 will be in amarillo when i want to do this. just an inline/np 435 for a 360/c6 swap. later i will put in the 429 after it has been rebuilt.

It'll go together, but it won't just bolt straight up. The C6 is longer than the NP435, and the 9" and Dana 60 have different input shaft lengths, so you'll have driveshaft length issues.

Of course, if you just switch the 9" and Dana 60 over as well, then it'll be a straight bolt-in.
