I was considering buying a used original ford under dash A/C unit for my 69 Ranger. I was wondering If any guys out there with these units already in their trucks have any opinions as to their effectiveness. In other words, do they work pretty well?
Also, how difficult a project is it to convert to A/C and is there any info out there, ie. Ford Shop Manuals that show parts breakdowns and istallation of these units. I have the 4 volume set of standard shop manuals but do not recall seeing much info specifically about these factory units.
While there is already tons of leg room for the passenger, I was wondering if they take up a lot of space on that side of the cab.
Thanks, Jeff

re: Factory A/C Info Needed
thanks for the reply, but since i wrote the message i have changed my mind on adding the a/c. i figure on adding a sliding rear window and rolling down the windows would be a little more cost effective,
. maybe some day i'll add a hang-on unit of some type.
later, jeff
