Cleaning on a budget

I just picked up a stock, cast iron, 4 barrell intake for my 390 that is gonna help get the Bump back on the road. Does anyone have any home brewed methods or ideas on how to clean it inside and out? I'm trying to avoid dropping the cash to have it baked and blasted.

Carb dip cleaner will remove anything brush it on, and pour it in, then back into the can.

I would try oven cleaner.

simple green and purple power (super clean) in a pressure washer...

Given the temp, I'll try a combo recipe of cleaner instead of getting the pressure washer out. I've heard about using oven cleaner but never tried it. Thanks for the ideas.

Oven cleaner and car wash or high pressure.
The carb clean will work but you can't get the stench of it out of anything for days. I had to quite using it a couple decades ago because I can't stand the smell.

I clean teh carb cleaner off when done with Awesome or Orange Clean and the smell is gone. THe manifold will be paint and carbon free with no scraping and the surface will be ready for painting.

How do you get the smell out of your skin, your clothes, your shop? Just changing clothes in the house will stink up the house. I wore a leather jacket to my cylinder head guys shop, he used it by the barrels and even his office stank. It got in my leather jacket and I had to leave it outside for a long time. Maybe the stuff is different now. I haven't went near it in ages.

I washed with orange based or citrus based cleaners. It doesn't soak into metal or certain rubbers but leather sheesh it soaked right in. My clothes came clean in one wash.
