I had the passenger side motor mount loosen up a bit so I tightened it back down. Naturally, I thought "I'll check the other 3 while I'm at it". Well I found 1 on the other side, but that's it. I thought it was strange that there was only 2. Then I saw in a catalog somewhere that they sold front and rear motor mounts. Am I supposed to have 2 or 4 motor mounts???

Re: 360 Motor Mounts....2 or 4??
There are only two engine mounts...one on each side of the middle of the block. What some catalogs refer to as a "rear engine mount" is actually the transmission mount.

Keith is right, 3 mounts, one on each side mid block, and the tranny
Pre-bump 352 trucks may have used a timing cover mount and a bellhousing mount, that could be 4 total, but never on a bump

Thanks guys. It's good to know the engine is not going to fall out.

Not true. My 65 with the 352 was exactly like the bumps.My427stang wrote:Keith is right, 3 mounts, one on each side mid block, and the tranny

Here's a link with some pics, Hawkrod answered it on the FE forum. I was just to lazy the first time to get specifics. Looks like 65 4x4 and one ton, as well as industrial motors

we weren't talking about 4x4's. The Slick 4x4's and 1 tons were different in alot of ways. My 65 f250 4x2 352 was just like the bumps.

Re: 360 Motor Mounts....2 or 4??
Well the OP wasn't even talking about 352s, I brought it up, so I guess we were talking about whichever early 352 I wanted to talk about
No big deal man, the guy just wanted to know if he should have multiple rear mounts, and a reference to the early ones was just for heck of it. What he saw in the catalog makes sense, just not for his 360, or any bumps.
Not sure what the deal is, but nobody is saying you are wrong, there were dual rear mount FEs, but not his (and not yours).
