Carb gasket.

Post by f26yrn04558-72 »

On my 72 with a 360 I have the thin gasket then the spacer that the water flows through, then another thin gasket, then a quater inch thick paper type spacer, then a thin gasket, then the carb. Should the quater inch spacer be there? In the shop manual it dosent show it. why would it be there? :? Also I have the 2100-d carb, which vacuum port should I be using for the dist. the one on the air horn or the one at the base of the carb? the one on the air horn is pluged off and I am using the one at the base.

If there are no problems I would leave it there. I had a problem with fuel boiling out of my carb untill we added a thicker base gasket.

That is what the thick 1/4 gasket is for The paper and the Phenolic stud bushings isolated the carb from too much heat. I need to get one for my 4V so it does not cook off this summer.
