4x4 engine mounts

Post by fordman »

the 4x4 eninge moutns are different than a 2wd truck. because the 4wd doesn't have the engine crossmember that the 2wd has under it. my question is. will the fe mounts be the same as the 6 cyl mounts? i have everything else. i just dont know about the 4wd engine perches.

I betting they would be like the 2wd in the respect that they'd move a few inches back on the engine crossmember.

I have the BB 4x4 mounts i can take pictures tommorrow for you.

Yes they are the same but when I did it, from a 6 to a 390, some of the holes weren't there in the frame.

The holes in the frame in the same spots and the FE stands and six stands are the same stampings. The difference is two holes in each side frame stand are different. If you move the stands to where you need them to work with the different engine and bolt them up with the 4 holes that do line up you can drill the two missing holes using the frame holes as a guide.
