Fuel filter/pump

Something is banging like hell against my engine block, and when I went to look under the hood, it appears to be either the pump or the filter spazzing out against the block. Now, its the last hose connected to the carb that is connected to the thing spazzing. What is it? and how should i fix it?

is this the stock pump and filter your talking about or an electric pump and inline fitler?

i would imagine its stock. It looks old as hell.

ok i didnt read this too well alst night. i guess i was too tired. the hose and inline filter you have up there is a aftermarket deal its just old . the stock pump and filter are bolted to the block timing cover. my guess is that the pump is pumping fuel into that inline filter and making it jump around or spazzing. which means the pump is good. because itis working. you could just tie it down somehow. or get a fitler that screws right into the cabr and get rid of the inline filter.

good news. The problem is now solved. I just tightened all the bolts; including the fuel line bolt. The thing doesn't even shake when it's running, so we're in good business now.
