underdash ac 1967 f100
Hi, has anyone installed an underdash unit in a 1967 f100 with factory heat. Do you have to remove the entire heater assembly. I have a floor AT shifter that seems like it might be in the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ted

Are you wanting to add the factory-style A/C or a dealer add-on unit? Since Ford never had a floor-shift automatic, it's been installed by a previous (or present owner), so without seeing where the shifter is located it would be hard to say whether there would be intereference or not. However, if you're wanting to install the large factory heater/AC combo, then yes, you'll have to remove your current heater box. If you're just installing a smaller underdash dealer-installed A/C unit, then your current heater will work just fine.

Welcome to the the forums, BTW. Stop by the Welcome Mat and tell us about yourself.
In a worst case scenario, you may have to relocate the shifter, if it is cable operated.
There are several different add on AC units. Some hug the dash rather closely and some look like a big box.
One of the 'dash hugger' units may work better.
