C6 shifter arm

Post by michael69 »

I have a C6 in my truck and it is starting to leak around shifter arm kind of bad. I'm guessing it just has an o-ring on it. What do you have to do to fix it. And does anyone have a part #. Not sure what year trans is just guessing maybe 75 or 76.THANKS

theres a o ring or soemthing that needs to be replace on the shifter shaft to make it stop leaking. i think you have to pull the shift shaft out to replace it. but maybe not. i don't remember.

Thats what I thought but I need to know how to do it. I think the valve body has to come out. I have never taken one out. If valve body is removed with trans still in truck will anything else come falling out or get missplaced because I sure would not know where to put it back.

when you pull the valve body just loosen the large bolts only. nothing else will fall out. ifit does its not hard to put back an adjustment band wedge . and if that is loose then it needed to be fixed anyway.
