I have a t5 trans out a 5.0 mustang with worked gears and a new clutch does anyone know if there is a way to install this into my 1969 100 race truck? it has a 360 5.9 put out to a 428 and a 3spd on the floor.

A 428 will put world class T-5 gears and shafts approximately 6" into the asphalt on the first launch.
A T-5 is a small block car tranny. Sell the T-5 and get a toploader or an aftermarket 5 speed.

At best a T5 will take 305ft-lbs. A built 390 will be over that.
I would look for something dirrerent and sell that T5.

If you had an Astro kit or a Gforce kit installed in the T5 it would be able to take the punishment. Final cost on those kits are about 2200 bux. Then you gota get a bell housing that would fit the block and the T5. Again you would need to consider input shaft length.
I think hooking a T5 to a big block is just cost prohibitive.
You can always drop a 5.0 into the truck but I'm not sure how happy you would be with the performance lol.

A NV4500HD is 2450 with clutch disc and will take a hammer drop from 450 horse motor without breaking.

Sorry I did not read race truck Top Loader RUG code wide ratio is kick ass in a race truck. All of mine used them with 3.89 Zoom gears in the rear end and 33 inch tall tires gave me 140 mph at 5200 rpm.
