wanna get lockin

Post by HillbillyDelux »

I bought a rearend sometime back that i wanted to put in my truck its out of a 79 bronco its a 31 spline with a trac lock and 3.50 gears and its wide enough to bring the rear tires about even with the fronts which i like. the only thing that concerns me is the pumpkin is offset to one side i havent measured to see how much but its noticable. can i still run it. :? oh yea and my truck is a 69 f100 2wd

in order to use it you will probably have to move the spring perches on that rear end. the pumkins are offset on all ford trucks.

Uh no, the pumpkins are all centered on Ford trucks, the pinion is offset the same distance as the drivetrain.

Move the spring perches and it'll be fine.

No, the pumpkin itself is centered in the housing. It's the drive pinion that sticks out of the front the pumpkin that is offset.

Are you sure its a rear end?? If its offset like you say, it kinda sounds like a 4x4 front end...?

The center section of the housing is offset a bit. Axle shafts are the same length. :)

Thanks. i measured and its not as much as i thought only bout two inches. after measurin the rearend in my truck i noticed it was offset too. looks like ill get to use it. If i get this aod swap figured out and done ill prolly rebuild the rearend with some 4.10s and use it. wat yall think bout the trac-loc

I have a TracLoc in my 72. No problems but then again I'm a pretty conservative driver.
