I was wondering what is nessesary to get a '69 speedo to work with the cable that comes out of my '76 NP 205 T-case? The guages on the '76 used a push in style connector on the back of the speedo and the '69 uses the screw in method. Is there a way to convert the two? What are my options?
Thanks for the help,
Corbin

Re: '69 to '76 speedo question?
I hope there is way to make it work. I just thought about cutting both cables in half a joining the them together somehow. Basically have the '76 end comming out of the transfer case and the '69 end going into the speedo. Unless there is a special conversion, this is the best I have heard so far.

I used to have a parts store in Anchorage that made them up, any ends and any length you wanted. I want to believe it is still possible.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Re: '69 to '76 speedo question?
I found a place that custom makes speedo cables so I think I will check them out. I haven't had time to go out and get I pic of the end yet hopefully soon. Its not a big problem yet I still have to swap bodies and reseal my 390.

Re: '69 to '76 speedo question?
There used to be things such as speedometer shops. When I put my toploader in my '70, the long tailshaft made the original cable too short. I had them make one up. They had a roll of generic cable and could put whatever ends on you needed. They even had the right gear to make my speedo accurate. It was a little shop with dismantled speedo's everywhere. I'm sure speedo shops have gone by the wayside now. Too bad.
