Hey all,
I just got a '67 F100 with a 352 FE motor in it. This is gonna be my first Ford to rebuild, but i've done a few GM's. Anyway, the guy who had it before me converted it from 3 on the tree to a floor shift setup. Unfortunately, the tranny is leaking up around the linkages. First question, does anyone know a good place to pick up a rebuild kit for these trannys?
Second question, a buddy of mine rebuilds cars for a living, and when me and him were talking about transmission options, he suggested a find a T5 tranny, so I can have a five speed, and get more than 8mpg on the highway. I was wondering if anyone knew of any platforms where a T5 was mated to an FE block, such as a newer truck, so that it will be easier to switch out with my tranny. Also, I was wondering if anyone had done this and could tell me how everything worked out for ya.
Also, if anyone has other suggestions for a tranny swap i am all ears, but this truck is gonna be a daily driver for me, and spend a good amount of time on the highway. Also, the rear end has 3.73's, but i am not sure i'f i'm gonna keep it at that.
Thanks in advance

You should prob change the rear end gears to 3.50 or maybe even 3.25. That will help gas mileage a bit and is very inexpensive if you got a nearby junk yard. You can usually get a 3rd member for less than $50. That's my first suggestion.
