All I can say is I've stared at my puter screen for ten minutes looking at picture of linkage and must say its a mechanical marvel.Very close to the seven wonders thing.Ill have to take off air breather tomorrow and move linkage around and also run some voltage, continuity tests on switch as to whether open is engaged or disengaged. There is a note in my old Chiltons manual on adjusting the switch with the hex head on switch. But it is not very descriptive as to its operation.
As to the the rod going back to firewall on backside of switch on the starboard side of linkage it has me baffled as to its purpose. Thanks in advance peanutman for those pictures if you get an opportunity.
Regards, Lon

closed or back would be disengauged. the firewall rod is a stabilizer rod. that all it does.

maybe you can drill out that gas pedal you have and put a piece of angle iron on it. or get a pedal from someone who has one. check with ezernutt9mm. he might have one.

The reason I suspected the gas pedal being a problem was because the angle the rod was at. Looking at the new pictures you will note that the rod is just the wrong one. The right one has bends in it to make it line up properly. Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures as I would not have known what it was supposed to look like. Hawkrod

Hey thanks alot for the great pics peanutman,it looks as if pedal not being depressed we have around 1/2"clearance before engagement of switch.Shouldnt be hard to drill a hole in my shaft and make up something...its been very cold here so this is going to have to wait a couple months. So will save your pics, and thank you guys for your input as these seam to be rare these days and fellas who have worked on these are few and far between.
Love the truck so far put new plates on it last week and have been driving to work...my daily drivers front caliper froze up last friday and left front brake is locked up.So nice to have my trusty old F100 to get me there. Its been starting fine at -10 temps when I leave work in AM
