Ok I've seen the "this is the easist way to do this" tutorial :
http://www.fordification.com/discbrakes01.htm
And I have a couple of questions.
How much would you EXPECT to spend on the parts if you got them from a pick-u-part or something? I know this would probably vary quite a bit, I'd just like to know what kind of ballpark I should be looking for.
Secondly if you swap the whole thing, does that come with the radius arm or would you have to get that separate (if yours was broken)?
Thank you,
Ronnie

the dentside radius arms are stamped steel. the bump sie radius arms are cast iron. i would get a pair of them. or maybe someone has a single they would sell. which side do you need?

Re: Costs for Disc Brake conversion
Well originally I thought it was only the left side, but the estimate I have seems to indicate both. But since I'd be swapping out the spindles et all with the disc conversion shouldn't I get the radius arm from the dentside? Or if you swap out the front end does it come with radius arms?

it is easier to remove the ibeams hubs and radius arm all in one shot. so thats the way i would go with it. mayeb you could spend up to 150.00 for everything including the pitman arm and or steering box as well as the brake bracket holders. don't forget the porportioning valve.

Keep in mind that to use the dentside radius arms, you also have to use the dentside front springs, due to differences in how the spring sits on the radius arm (the lower cup is different, and not interchangeable). Otherwise, you can use your bumpside radius arms with the rest of the dentside parts, and continue using your existing springs.

Just to continue the guestimation thread, what would you guestimate the remaining new parts would run? "Most of the brake components will be replaced with new parts, including the rotors, calipers, bearings, hoses and pads.".
