Howdy From Washington State
Hi guys!
I've had this dream from 12 years old till now to get my own Ford pick-up and I am now a proud owner of a 1972 F250 Ranger. The motor runs sweet once it's warmed up and all it needs a basic tune-up, which I am able to do with minimal help. My plans are to restore it to it's original factory condition. According to the title, it was brown and white and it's entire body got painted green....a different tailgate (blue) got put on it at one time. So, I'll be busy detailing. Other than that, I have to replace a few odds and ends here and there. It also needs a radio and an unbent antenna. What's a Ford truck without it's speakers turned up blasting out music for God's sake? He's a bad boy now, but I am proud of him and looking forward to my project of restoring him as he was when he made his first appearance out of the factory onto the road.
I don't mean to intrude in the guy zone, but this girl is really into her truck. I am looking forward to sharing my experience with my new toy!
Happy New Year,
Ranger Chick

Re: Howdy From Washington State
Thank ya boys for the nice welcome.......I'm in.....I'm in! LOL
Hang on for pics.......my sons (13 and 11 year old) played with my video cam last night and ran the battery dead. So, as soon as I can get a good enough charge I will go out and take pictures of my bad boy. I'm thinking I am just going to name him, "Bad Boy". I just got him last night and I had to go out a little bit ago just to sit in him...and dream.
I have been all over in this site, trying to get an idea of what all I need to do and get. The one thing I counted on to be simple was finding a pic on the web to show me where on the outside body of my truck is the brown and white colors supposed to be. I am assuming that the brown color goes on the hood and the upper half the body, while the white goes on the cab and lower half of the body. Who knows, but that story will be told one day I am sure.
God, seeing it now in the daylight, I have my work cut out for me a tad more than I thought, but that's okay I can do it and will do it. First thing I gotta do is get out there and clean it while the video cam's charging, then take pics.
Thanks again for the welcome!

I know faithful Old Road Dog has been talking to me about it. He drives all the way up from CA. I will be putting that together and posting it in the near future.

Okay.....didn't wanna clean it out, but here's pics of him.

Ain't he a beaut? He will be, I'm a woman and I can change him! LMAO!

Oh whatta view......you can see the tailgate a bit.....see, it's blue.

Messy but here he is in the inside. So, guys.....here's my new toy! Hopefully, I used the right code to get the pics to show up....if not, I will work on it.

You bet I'm pumped! Been dreaming of this for years.....from 12 years old till now....I am 46 now. I was showing my toy off to one of my neighbor's while taking the pics and she didn't know what to think of me.......it's just a truck to her....gaaaaaaasp! I got a remark from another neighbor to take it inside when he caught me leaned over Bad Boy's hood kissing him. LMAO!
I really, really, really, really love my truck!!!!!!!!
I look forward to the meet-up!

Re: Howdy From Washington State
Update on the color scheme.........I just went outside and popped open the hood and under the hood is brown and taking a better look by taking a screw driver head and scratching off some of the green paint on top of the hood, I can see brown paint beneath it. I did that in other areas of the truck bed and found brown paint on the entire body. Then, I looked at the top of the cab and could see where some of the green is chipping off a little and took the screw driver to a part of that and lo and behold there's white paint beneath the green.
So, I have most likely determined the entire truck was brown with the top of the cab being white. I think I am pretty much safe to assume this. What do y'all think?
Wish it was summer, would love to get out there and give it a bath and clean it out good.....but it's too dang cold!
