Radiator interchange

Post by Frankenstein »

What other years of trucks radiators will be a direct bolt in for a 2wd 71 f100 with a 390/C6 and no AC. Will any newer trucks work, the yards around here have a bunch of newer ones but not many older trucks.

I put a radiator out of a late 80's or early 90's Ford van in my 70. I took a little cutting around the mount on the radiator but other than that it fits just fine.

i think 61-79 will be direct bolt ins. the 61-66 rads are different though but i think will bolt in. the 67-79 will bolt in with no problems. you also have to watch which engine the truck a had in them and if you have an a/c coil in front of the radiator. the brackets will be slightly different. engine size will determine outlet size for the hoses coming off of the radiator. hoses to change from one size to the another size cost more than a regular hose.
