Re: Speedmaster intakes?
The street master FE was almost identical to the later now discontinued Torker FE. The Torker pulled a little more farther down the band as I got a flow test at 800 rpm on a Torker FE and on a Street Master they were rated at 1200 rpm as the start of the band.
The Torkers are all single plane.
I have made a request to Edelbrock to bring the Torker or the Street Master back.

Re: Speedmaster intakes?
The StreetMaster is a surprising intake. In the great FE manifold shoot out it came out near the top on a very midly modified engine. Everyone was shocked incluing the guy doing the comparisons. They have done many more shoot outs since the old one and the StreetMaster consitently comes out near the top for a mild street engine. Here is one of the more detailed comparisons: http://www.network54.com/Forum/74182/me ... ld+Comparo. The Streetmaster is an old design but it worked well which is why they sold them for so many years and why there are so many of them around. Hawkrod

Re: Streetmaster intakes?
Thanks hawkrod....maybe I do like this manifold. I think I will give it a try along with the 650 holley and a set of headers and some nice dual exhaust....betcha it would be a nice setup ,,mind you thats still months away. I have the truck in a gajillion pieces all sanded down and ready for paint. rather than trying to piece all that old wiring together I bought a painless wiring kit from Jegs at a cost of $700 . But what the hell, what started off as a quick clean up ended up doing it the right way as I plan on keeping this truck then willing it to some nice woman wih huge hooters

HOLA! I REALLY like to hear the news on my streetmaster I bought parts truck and he through in the intake and the holley....only piad $500 for a 1968 Mercury Camper Special, and it runs. I was basically buying it for a fender and a few odds and ends...must say this is a pleasant surprise!!

Re: Speedmaster intakes?
The streetmaster really comes alive with some mild porting---gasket match the runners and the single plane area under the carb--gas mileage and power greatly inproves.
