valve cover information

Post by 1lowf150 »

i picked up a set of valve covers for my 302. they are finned and have NRS on them. one of the guys in the car club has a set on his t bucket. he has had them on there for over 15 years, and said he was told it stood for " nationwise rod shop". does any one know of this company? or has anyone ever seen a set of the valve covers? any information would be great, i am planning on running the covers on my motor and would like to know about them.

Are they the nock-off Mickey thompson style?? (M/T)
I think Holley made some just like the M/T's as well....

I have a set that are finned and have a rectangle blocked out in the middle of the fins like it had a sticker or something there. I have seen them before but don't know the id.

i have found out a little. the nationwise rod shop was in columbus ohio in the mid 70's. they sold speed parts and was conected with nationwise auto parts, i guess. still hard to find out to much about them, i just liked the looks of the covers and wanted some info so when asked what the nrs stood for i would know.here are some pics.

thanks papabug71' i like them, not sure what i am going to do to get them cleaned up. i am going to have to run a set of spacers so the will clear the roller rockers, but that shouldn't be a problem.
