Since it was a slow day at work and I was basically caught up, I took the afternoon off the spent it at the shop getting my truck's firewall cleaned up and ready for the POR-15. (That's on the agenda for tomorrow.) Took me about 5 hours altogether.
I did most of this with a wire wheel in the angle grinder, then I spent about 1-1/2 hours hitting all the areas that the wire wheel wouldn't reach with 60-grit sandpaper, then roughed up the entire firewall with it for better adhesion. The second picture was taken when I was 95% done....still had a few small areas to hit with the sandpaper.
By this time tomorrow the firewall should be completely done!

Absolutely! I'm just waiting until the front end is completely mocked up so that I can tighten the cab down before coating the areas inside the cab mounts. Once those are done, I intend to completely seal up the cab mounts, drill a small hole down into them from the interior floorpan and then completely fill the mounts with cavity wax....so I'll never have to worry about them rusting out again!
