Dana 44 strength

Post by Chaseman »

There's this kid in town with a 1986 F350 4X4 and he thinks the truck has a dana 44 rear end. Wouldn't even the 6.9 liter shred though a dana 44? I think (know) it has the ford 10.25 but, I'm not telling him that , I going to use his false info against him to buy his truck from him for less.

Its not a D44 for sure if it is stock. More then likely a D60, D70 or 10.25.

HAHAHA! what a Moron! lol Know what you got before you start runnin yer mouth! lol

If it's a SRW Crewcab it should have the Sterling with the 6250# GAWR in the rear, and the d60 beam axle with the 3500# GAWR up front! :D offer him $500

If it's a dually it should have the same front axle, but the rear would be a Dana 70 or sterling 10.25 with the higher 7400# GAWR. Then I'd offer him $550

:yt: ..... I've heard rumors that some of the F-350's around that vintage could have had a TTB front end. If it's the solid front then that can be worth up to $1200 to a guy looking to swap out a TTB from a 250

They're worth whatever you can get out of them. The market for old truck parts is pretty low right now. I sold the last one I had for $700 with 3.54's. I know countless people that would love to upgrade thier TTB to a D60. None of them would dare spend that money right now though.
