Re: Do I Have To Move My Carrier Bearing
If it is only 2 inches I would try and use it. I have moved them more than that with no issues. I just don't like to if I don't have to. All you have to do is bolt a piece of 1/4 plate the existing mount and drill two holes. You have nothing to lose by trying it. Hawkrod

It's two piece cause if it was one piece it would shake like a wet dog. You be drivin a mixmaster. Take the truck
and driveline to shop you had do it. Act pissed off, and say look what a botched up job you guys did.
Might work? Then again it might not. Now maybee just maybee your in a position to negotiate a deal. Best time
is AM opening time. Thats when the regular customers drop off their cars. See, then they won't wan't an irate
customer complaining. Jake, never said any of this

I agree, you should keep the two-piece driveshaft. It'll be more than strong enough to handle anything you throw at it. And like Jake mentioned, a one-piece driveshaft will be borderline TOO long to use. It'll be expensive to fabricate and difficult to balance and to maintain the balance.
Just chalk this up to lessons learned, and replace it with the correct pieces. Not only will you be much happier in the long run, but when you do sell the truck, you won't be referred to as the "backwoods previous owner" who jury-rigged something that the next owner has to then try to un-do to get it fixed right.
Just my

Re: Do I Have To Move My Carrier Bearing
I was thinking about it today in math class and how does Ford balance the drive shafts from the factory? Becuase the truck the transmission came out of is a longbed 83(i think) F150 and its one pice and also my 95 F150 is a longbed at its a one pice. I was just wondering how they keep there's right? I think for a few weeks i'm just gonna stick my brothers one pice out of his F150 in the 70 just to make shure the trucks gonna work and drive before i buy another drive shaft.
