Hi Folks! Here's the clutch lever arm out of my truck. I painted it blue about twelve years ago.
Recently I noticed that NPD has these arms for sale, new.
Why?
Do these arms wear out somehow?
Thanks very much!

They can. The holes can wear and get wollard out and loose. But it will still work.

If people let the bushings go too long, the arm tube part can wear egg shaped and thin on one side, enough to break through. Also, the arms have been known to break off where they are welded to the tube. If not lubed now and then, the pin pivot holes can wear through.

Hi Fred and Jake, thanks for your replies!
I see what you mean about the wear points on the gadget. I'll have to inspect mine closely to see if it's a hum dinger or not.
Thanks again,

You should still be able to get the bushings at the dealer. Last set I bought was about three years ago, but I think they still carry them. I have a good situation as the parts guy at my local dealer drives the same junk that I do and he is always willing to go the extra mile for anybody who drives this type of vehicles.

Re: Do these clutch arms wear out?
Hi Fred! Thanks for the info. You know, I actually picked up some of those bushings from Dennis Carpenter a month or two back, so I'm all set with those. I also found some of the felt seals that keep the grease in (and dirt out) from NPD.
That sounds like a neat situation you've got with your parts guy. Nothing beats parts guys who like cars (especially the one you're buying parts for)!
