Hi guys:
I restored my 67 bumpside, even placed some pictures at gallery (http://www.fordification.com/galleries/ ... by&uid=295). Yesterday I loaded the pick up with some wood i needed to bring home (it was heavy stuff). We were going uphill on first gear until I got home (t-45 transmission) and I am still on first gear, there's no way I can get another gear, the transmission got stuck on first.... Do you guys know a way I can fix it....
Thanks in advance

Re: STUCK ON "GRANNY GEAR"
I'm not even sure what a T-45 is? Is that correct? If so, it's not something we're used to seeing here in the States. Is it a 3-spd or 4-spd?

Re: STUCK ON "GRANNY GEAR"
I'm also not familiar with a T-45, in the states we have T-18's and NP435's but can you describe your problem in a little more detail?
Can you move the shifter out of first, but the transmission stays in that gear or is the stick stuck in first as well? If the stick moves you have a broken shift fork. If the shifter is stuck it could be a few different things, but I'd start by pulling the shifter to see if there's something worn and binding in the top plate.

Sorry, about the mistake. You guys are right i am talking about a T-18 transmission.
I can't move the shifter out of first, it's stuck on first.
I apreciatte your help. I enjoy my pick up so much that it drives me nuts not being able to move it.

Re: STUCK ON "GRANNY GEAR"
I don't think I've ever done that on a T-18 IIRC, but on various transmissions where I've got 'em stuck in gear like that I've just pulled the top plate, pushed in the clutch and held it in, and used a screwdriver to line all the forks back up. Don't force anything, the forks should slide easily. Line up and reinstall top plate. If it doesn't happen again for years great, if it does it repeatedly then something's wore out.

I second TOF. The tops gotta come off. Then you can see whats up. Maybee a busted fork.
Take boot off. Uncrew the the retainer on the shifter. Don't lose the little pin in the side when you pull the stick.
Pull floor plate. Pull lid off top. Looksee. Have fun. there easy to fix.
