390F100, I'll bet you never expected to take so much heat over your oil filter.

alright, alright, i'll change the oil filter, I would have to agree they are junk. I did put Mobil 10-30 in it and I will only run it for a short time probably 1 day or so before I change it again, at that time I will make sure I have the Wix or Motorcraft filter in hand...
And for the comment "does it run" I know it will run but for how long? and even if it doesn't run for very long at least it's a nice paperweight... I did a very thorough job at cleaning and resealing and replacing all of the worn parts so we will see. I will make sure to post a video clip of it WHEN IT RUNS!!!

If you have a flat tappet cam do not run synthetic oil in it, especially for the initial break in oil.
It is critical that the oil you use has Zinc in it, like diesel oil or racing oils that state on the can that they are illegal for street use.
Oil not containing Zinc can cause a cam lobe to flatten out within minutes of starting your engine and destroy your new cam and lifters.
GM makes a great oil additive for breaking in a flat tappet cam.
If you installed a roller cam run what you have.
