Brake booster question

Post by Joshpow »

I remember reading on here that the 78/9 trucks had a different setup on the brake booster. I believe it was called a cantilever. I can't find the page I read to reference back to. I bought a 77 truck for front brake stuff. When I got the booster out, I found that the booster looked likeI remember the 78/9 part looking. Is it possible the truck could have had that style booster? It won't work with my 72 pedal assembly will it? I need to know this stuff before I tear into my front axle/brake swap. Are the master cylinders the same or different?

Thanks
Josh

I was backward. I got the right one for a 77 and the right one for the conversion. I have a cantilever style. The 78/9 doesn't use the cantilever. I had that mixed up and thought they had it and it wouldn't wor. I got my duck straight now. I won't have to go booster hunting after all. Thanks SteveC. You got the exact link I was looking for. You were a big help.
